Radja Nainggolan left out of Belgium’s World Cup squad

Date:

Belgium were drawn with Panama, Tunisia and England in Group G, and along with the Three Lions, are favourites to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Former Everton manager Martinez has now named his preliminary squad ahead of the tournament, which surprisingly does not include fan favourite Radja Nainggolan, while Adnan Januzaj was an unexpected inclusion.

Superstars Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens were all selected for the squad, and will be looking to lead Belgium in attack, along with Romelu Lukaku and China-based Yannick Carrasco.

Here is Belgium’s provisional World Cup squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Koen Casteels, Thibaut Courtois, Simon Mignolet, Matz Sels

Defenders: Dedryck Boyata, Toby Alderweireld, Christian Kabasele, Laurent Ciman, Thomas Vermaelen, Jan Vertonghen, Leander Dendoncker, Jordan Lukaku, Vincent Kompany, Thomas Meunier

Midfielders: Nacer Chadli, Thorgan Hazard, Eden Hazard, Marouane Fellaini, Adnan Januzaj, Mousa Dembele, Youri Tielemans, Axel Witsel, Kevin De Bruyne
