Protected Investment! FC Porto commits Sanusi to long term contract extension

Zaidu Sanusi has reached an agreement for a contract extension with Portuguese Primeira Liga champions, FC Porto.

Sanusi, 25, penned the deal on Friday and the new contract will see the LB commit his long term future to the club.

The new deal will run until June 2027; a two year extension to his intial deal that still had three years on it.

In the summer of 2020, the Player joined Porto from lowly Santa Clara as a free agent and has made over 50 appearances for the first team.

He also scored some crucial goals, including last season’s O Clássico, against SL Benfica, which was the lesgue title decider.

After that game, Sanusi told reporters, ‘it was the most important goal of my career so far.’

In the 2022 summer transfer window, the €10m-rated Nigerian defender, was linked with interests from several clubs including Brighton in the English Premier League.

Reportedly, Zaidu Sanusi is one of the club’s lowest earners first team players, taking home a.meagre €962 per week and €50,000 yearly.
