Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was in action for 90 minutes as Lille held Spanish side, Valencia to a 1-1 draw at home in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions league fixture.
After Group H rivals Chelsea had won in Amsterdam, Lille needed a win against Valencia to stay in contention for round of the 16 qualifications.
But, it was Denis Cheryshev who gave the visitors a lead they barely deserved in the 63rd minute at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
However Lille continued to search for an equaliser that eventually came with the last kick of that game, substitute Jonathan Ikone scored a dramatic late equaliser to earn Lille a draw against 10-man Valencia.
Jonathan Ikoné’s right footed shot from the centre of the box went straight to the top right corner, following an assist from Benjamin André .
It was the first point for the Christopher Galtier’s men in this season Champions League campaign.
Osimhen has scored one goal in three appearances for Lille in the competition.
