The Nigeria WNT head Coach, Randy Waldrum has acknowledged, that there is constant pressure on the team to do well in their opening game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria will open its Women’s World Cup campaign with a grudge match against Canada, and Randy Waldrum admitted there’s always pressure to perform in the first game.

“As the manager of the team, pressure is always there,” Waldrum told NFF TV.

“There is pressure from the players as they also feel the pressure and we have to learn to cope and manage with that, so that we can go into the match with a clear head and not have things weighing us down. Also, so that we can play freely and the way we want our team to play.”

The Super Falcons’ campaign in the FIFA Women’s World Cup will begin on July 21, at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

They will then face Australia six days later, followed by their final group match against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
