According to reports by Portuguese media, a host of European clubs are looking to sign Super Eagles invitee, Bruno Onyemaechi after his impressive season with Boavista.

Onyemaechi, 24, is reportedly on the radar of Portuguese giants FC Porto, who are in the market for a left-sided defender.

It has also been reported that the Nigerian impressed Rennes and has emerged as a transfer target for the French club as they will be playing in the Europa League next season.

Boavista exercised their option to acquire him permanently from Feirense, indicating their satisfaction with the defender’s performances.

However, they remain open to a potential transfer during the off season, if a suitable offer is tabled.

Porto appears to be the frontrunner in the race to sign Onyemaechi, although Rennes are also showing firm interests.

With manager Jose Peseiro including the 24 year-old on the rosters for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification games with Guinea-Bissau in March and the glitzy friendly against Portugal last November, however, the player is yet to make his Super Eagles debut.
