Sunshine Stars ’ Ajibola Otegbeye says the Owena waves are working hard to finish the season in the top three.
The Kabir Dogo side the verge of another defeat after Ossy Martins put the Pride of Rivers ahead from the penalty spot in the 69th minute, but Otegbeye’s controversial penalty five minutes from full-time earned the Akure landlords a point.
While assessing the their season so far, Otegbeye said his side deserved more for their efforts this season but the politic of the game is affecting the team.
“Sunshine Stars do not deserve the position they are on the league table,” he continued.
“We should be in the top three but due to the politics of the game, we have to be content with the place we are at present. But we are working hard to ensure that Sunshine Stars finish the season within the top three and thus qualify for the playoff.”
Sunshine Stars are presently seventh on the table with 20 points from 16 game s and they will welcome Wikki Tourists to Akure next week.
