Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre has addressed her omission from the the Super Falcons for the Olympic football event qualifier against Ethiopia.

Plumptre notably during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia before completing a move to Saudi Women league side, Al-Ittihad.

The 25 year-old had featured in all four games for Nigeria during the World Cup, however, she was surprisingly left out of the squads for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers, raising concerns about her absence.

Plumptre has not provided specific details regarding her exclusion, leaving fans curious about her future with the Super Falcons.

“I’ve had to make the decision to miss this camp for personal circumstances. I really appreciate the love and concerns. I also know the girls will do great (against Ethiopia)!,” Plumptre told NigeriaFootball.ng.
