Nigeria’s game against Ecuador is still part of the Super Eagles’ rebuilding process, and playing good football will be crucial as getting a result so says Assistant Coach Finidi George.

The Eagles lost their first game under the new Technical crew, but there has also been signs of progress George insists.
A former NT player with 62 caps and over a decade of International football, the former Winger, who is also Coach of NPFL side Enyimba, believes they Coaches have done enough to expect a good outing in New Jersey against the South Americans.
“We’ve had a couple of sessions even while in Dallas, I liked it; we’re building,” George remarked on the first days of the Team’s camping.
“The building process has started and we want to see how far we can push the players, It has been good so far. Let’s see how the second game will go.”
“This is a building process, a draw will not be a bad result. If we have the victory we will take it at anytime, but if we can have a draw and play a good game I think we’ll all accept it, go back home and build on that.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign kicks off in a week and the preparations in the USA have been about getting Jose Peseiro’s “football ideology” across in the earliest.
In his assessment of the Portuguese trainer, George described the efforts of the past week has been encouraging and expects the Players to step up.
“He has been doing well, it’s not easy, just a week with the players and he’s trying to give them all the information, but bit by bit.
“By the time we get to the qualification, I think the players definitely will know what is expected of them and try to do their best for Nigeria,” Finidi George concluded in his NFF TV interview.
