Last season’s Aiteo Cup runners up, Kano Pillars will play in this year’s final, where they face Niger Tornadoes for the elusive trophy.
Pillars qualified for their second finals – in consecutive seasons – following a 4-1 shoot out win over Calabar Rovers at the Aper Aku Stadium on Thursday.
While relegated Niger Tornadoes shocked league side Rivers United following a 2-1 win in the second semi-final at the Agege township Stadium in Lagos.
As a result, Tornadoes will now join Enugu Rangers as Nigeria’s representatives at next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, as Pillars have already qualified for Champions League – after they finished as runners up in the league.
Meanwhile the venue and date for the 2019 AITEO Cup final is yet to be decided by the Nigeria Football Federation.
