Asante Kotoko defender, Habib Mohammed has sent a warning to Kano Pillars, that he and his team mates would ensure to keep a clean sheet against the Nigerian side in the reversed fixture of their Champions League match.
A win and a clean sheet for Kotoko against Pillars, next weekend in the return leg of the preliminary round match will see the Ghanaian side progress.
Habib, who partnered Ayiku Tetteh in the central defence in the Kano said Pillars will face a different defensive apparatus
“We have watched the clip over and over and we have assessed our performance after the game. It was just some little misunderstanding between us on the pitch but we are correcting them before our next assignment, which is on Sunday.
“We expect to win and make it to the next round,” the defender said.
“As defenders, we are working to avoid conceding goals. We want to keep a clean sheet to compliment the effort of the strikers when they score and I know victory will be ours.
“My target this season is to lift the Champions League. We are praying for that to happen,” he prayed.
Pillars won the first leg 3-2 at Sanni Abacha Stadium, and know they have to be at their very best to get a result against against the host.
The Porcupines, surprisingly in front of Pillars fans raced into a 2-1 lead in the second half in Kano, after conceding early in the first half.
They, however, relinquished their lead allowing the host snatch victory with two goals in the final moments of the game.
