Kano Pillars head coach Ibrahim Musa says his aim is to erase the memories of last season’s AITEO Cup final loss by getting it right in this year.
Pillars held a 3-0 lead for over 75 minutes against Rangers but lost the plot as the latter turned the game around and in dramatic fashion clinched the trophy after a shoot-out win at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
In their semi-final game against Calabar Rovers on Thursday, Pillars 4-2 on penalties after it ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Reacting after the game, Musa said “I thank the people of Kano and the management for their continuous and unflinching support”.
“Last year, we were very unlucky, we were close to winning, but that is football, we have worked very hard to get to this stage and all we want to do is win”.
Pillars will now take on Niger Tornadoes in this year’s finals at a yet to be named date and venue by the Nigeria Football Federation.
