Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has expressed his disappointment at the wastefulness of his strikers in the friendly encounter with Mozambique which ended in a 3-2 win.

However, in his post-match remarks Peseiro hinted that he expected a better performance.

The Super Eagles created many gilt-edged opportunities to blow their counterparts away, however, they failed to convert them, much to the frustration of the head coach.

Even after the Super Eagles had ended the first half positively, by coming from behind to lead 3-1.

They would have a frustrating second half as they could not put the advantages to good use, and even allowed Mozambique to grab a second goal.

After the game, Jose Peseiro expressed his displeasure despite finally ending a 15-game winless streak in international friendlies.

“I didn’t like the second half because we commanded it, but you must put more concentration and the finishing was poor,” Peseiro said in his post-match interview.

“Our team is better than this team and yet we let in two goals.

“We played better than this result because we created 10, 14 chances, many opportunities.

“I liked the match against Saudi Arabia, but today (Monday), I don’t like it. Today, we need to score five, six, seven, eight goals.”
