Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has chosen to remain tight-lipped about his future with the team.

The 65-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month, and there are speculations suggesting that the Nigerian Football Federation will not extend his tenure.

Peseiro, who took charge of the Super Eagles on May 15, 2022, declined to provide any insight into his contract situation when questioned during the team’s first training session for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

“My future with the Super Eagles is to train today, tomorrow and prepare for the Sierra Leone game, beat them and qualify for AFCON,” Peseiro said.

Jose Peseiro would be looking to seal the passage of the Super Eagles to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Ivory Coast, when he leads the Super Eagles OUT against Sierra Leone on Sunday; as the team needs just one point to seal qualification.
