Jose Peseiro says despite being clear favorites in Monday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome & Principe, the Super Eagles will not underrate their Opponents.

Peseiro expressed confidence in his team’s quality but also expects that they will meet formidable resistance from the team ranked 183rd by FIFA.
The Portuguese spoke to Reporters on Sunday, at the pre-match Presser of the away game against The Falcons and True Parrots at the Stade Adrar.
Nigeria opened its campaign in the qualifiers with a 2-1 home win against Sierra Leone, and has charged his Players’ to show their quality again.
‘No two matches are the same, it’s our responsibility to understand this,’ Peseiro responded about his game plan against Sao Tome & Principe.
‘This is a different opponent in all the characteristics, but important for our team is We must do our best in the offensive and defensive possessions as well as in the transitions because we want to win and give a very good game.’
On his assessment on Sao Tome & Principe’s following their 5- 1 defeat to Guinea Bissau, the Eagles trainer said, ‘I saw the match, but the main point is that We must work on our model, and respect our Opponent.’
‘I know Sao Tome, most of those in the team play in my Country and they will come with the determination of doing better than the last time, we expect that.’
