For the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Monrovia, Nigeria’s head coach José Santos Peseiro has extended invitations to captain Ahmed Musa, William Troost-Ekong and Moses Simon.

Super Eagles coach, Peseiro also extended invitation to four home based players in his 23 man-list.

Victor Sochima and Olorunleke Ojo, two home-based goalies, as well as Ebube Duru of Rivers United and Divine Nwachukwu of Bendel Insurance FC, a midfielder, were handed invitations.

With nine points from four games, the Super Eagles lead their qualifying group.

The Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau are in second place with seven points, while the Leone Stars have five points after giving the Eagles a battle on Day 1 of the qualifying series in Abuja before losing 2-1.

With just one point, Sao Tome and Principe sit last in the standings and face Nigeria on the last Matchday in September.

On Sunday, June 18, Sierra Leone and Nigeria will face off at the Samuel Kanyon Doe venue in Monrovia since no other venue in Sierra Leone has been authorized for use in an international game this June.
