Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro believes Victor Osimhen is destined to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award in the near future.

Osimhen, 24, is among the elite group of 12 players shortlisted for this year’s Ballon d’Or, alongside Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and co.

This recognition comes on the back of the Nigerian’s impressive campaign last season, which helped Napoli secure the Serie A title for the first time in over three decades.

Similarly, during the previous season, Osimhen showcased remarkable goal-scoring prowess, netting 26 goals in 32 matches.

Peseiro, speaking to Il Mattino, expressed his strong belief in the Forward’s potential to win the Ballon d’Or, highlighting the striker’s significant contributions to Napoli’s success.

“He can surely win the Ballon d’Or in the future. He’s not lacking anything to do it. He has different characteristics than other players that are at the top at this moment, but he scores a lot as well.”
