Following the intense encounter against Sierra Leone, head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his team.

Peseiro acknowledged the challenges the team faced throughout the match and praised their resilience and determination.

Victor Osimhen’s brace and a Kelechi Iheanacho winner at the death were enough to hand the Super Eagles a ticket to the AFCON 2024 in Ivory Coast with a game to spare.

In his post-match presser, the Portuguese Coach said the Opponent put up a good fight, but welcomed how the Super Eagles proved their dominance; handling the pressure well.

“Our team qualified, It was a hard match. Our team never gave up.

“We fought till the end, but, Sierra Leone did a fantastic job. In the first half, we created 7 to 8 clear opportunities and only scored twice [The same] in the second half. But, you have to win. It was a very good match,” he said.

“Our team is the best in this group. I think we did a good job today against a good team. It was a very hard match. I am very happy with my players. Congratulations to them because it was not easy.”
