Super Falcons’ Forward, Uchenna Kanu etched her name in history books with the Nigerian WNT at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, going unbeaten during regulation and extra-time across four games at the tournament.

To place this remarkable achievement in context, two of the teams Nigeria encountered advanced to the last four – England and Australia.

During a conversation with FL, Kanu shared that the Super Falcons’ incredible journey filled her and her teammates with pride and fulfillment.

She emphasized that this unique opportunity would not be hastily forgotten.

“It was a great experience and I’m thankful for the opportunity as always, and it’s a huge honor for me and of course my teammates as well,” Kanu said about Nigeria’s performance at the Women’s World Cup.

“It was a really profound experience for us because it’s just a different World Cup. It’s not something that we’re used to.”

“Everything was top notch, the tournament itself, my team, the preparation, everything was really good and I’m happy.

“Unfortunately we didn’t make it past the round of 16, but I feel like we had a great outing and overall, I’m proud of the team, I’m proud of what we achieved.

“Our team has really grown and improved as well. So it was a great experience overall and I’m thankful for the opportunity.”
