Nigeria striker Alhaji Gero watched from the bench as Östersunds FK drew 1-1 with Elfsborg in the Swedish Allavenskan on Friday.
The former Flying Eagles forward was an unused substitute as goals from Jonathan Levi and Curtis Edwards thrilled fans at the Jaemtkraft Arena.
Ian Burchnall’s men have picked up five points in their opening four games of the season.
This form has seen in 8th spot in the Swedish top flight table.
Gero has made three appearances for the Östersunds FK in the ongoing campaign. He represented Nigeria at the 2013 U20 World Youth Championship before moving to Sweden, where he played for Oster for two seasons before moving to Denmark and he represented Viborg for two seasons.
The attacker departed Östersunds FK to team up with Azadi Stadium outfit Esteghlal in August 2018 on a three-year-deal.
Following an unsuccessful stint at the Persian Gulf Pro League, the former Rangers, Kaduna United and Lobi Stars forward rejoined Östersunds FK from Esteghal in February 2019.
