Victor Osimhen was again on target for Napoli as he came off the bench to settle a very difficult game for Napoli.

Napoli needed to defeat Bologna to go back on top of Seria A after Atalanta won against Sassuolo yesterday.

However, it was Bologna who shot into the lead in the first half, Joshua Zirkzee converted in the 41st minute after he was put through on goal.

Bologna deserved the lead but were immediately pegged back as Napoli found a quick equaliser through Juan Jesus to level the game before the halftime whistle.

Although Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the star of the game for Napoli, it was Victor Osimhen, who recently returned from Injury that was the solution for the Azzurri’s struggles.

Osimhen was Introduced in the 46th minute and shortly after, Napoli took the lead through Hirving Lozano in the 49th minute.

But Bologna showed they were no pushovers as they also responded rapidly and equalized just two minutes after Napoli’s lead, through Musa Barrow.

Eventually, Napoli’s quality came through when they started applying pressure and it was the Nigerian forward, Osimhen, that came up with the match winner.

The 23 year-old had been relentless since his Introduction and got a deserving goal to guarantee all three points for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Osimhen has now made it two goals in two games from the bench since his return to competitive action after weeks out injured.
