Victor Osimhen missed training on Monday, with reports about the Forward recovering from a knock he suffered in Napoli’s Serie A match against Napoli at the weekend.
Osimhen played all 90 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico as Napoli fought from a goal down to edge past Lazio 2-1, but the Nigerian reportedly picked up a minor injury.
Napoli will return to action on Wednesday, when they get their UEFA Champions League campaign under way with a home game against Liverpool.
According to an Italian news outlet, Napoli’s Nigerian hit man was “excused” from training on Monday after the team’s doctors examined the extent of his injury.
Like Osimhen, Hirving Lozano also suffered an injury (a facial bone fracture) against Lazio and is now a major doubt for Wednesday’s game.
Osimhen was impressive for the Partenopei in the win over Maurizio Sarri’s side at the Stadio Olimpico, but wasn’t among the goal scorers.
