Osimhen Seizes Opportunity off the Bench


Victor Osimhen started from the bench in Napoli’s Serie A fixture away at Lecce on Saturday.

Osimhen was introduced In the second half and the forward found the back of the net for a second consecutive game.

With the drama around the Player’s fractured relationship with his club seeming to Peter out, he once again has his head in the game.

Yet it was surprising to see him dropped to the bench by Manager, Rudi Garcia.

In the Nigerian’s place a Giovanni Simeone was thrown on, but the Italian didn’t impact the game as as expected and Garcia pulled his first allotted sub’s card, introducing Osimhen after the restart.

Napoli were ahead by a goal, Leo Ostigard had shot the Champions ahead in the 16th minute from a Piotr Zielinski assist.

Osimhen got the second goal five minutes after coming off the bench.

Gianluca Gaetano (88′) and Matteo Politano (90+4′) completed the rout as Napoli marches on to record consecutive wins following last week’s 4-1 thumping of Udinese.
