Napoli Forward Victor Osimhen has earned the praises of manager Luciano Spalletti following his man-of-the-match performance in the 2-1 win over Udinese at the Diego Maradona Stadium at weekend.
Osimhen turned the tie around for the hosts within eleven second-half minutes and almost had a hat trick.
He is the first Nigerian to score ten goals or more in different seasons in the Italian Serie A and Spalletti believes he is extremely underrated.
Osimhen is expected to arrive Nigeria’s camp for the World Cup qualifiers against Ghana before the team’s departure for the Gold Coast.
The 24 year-old missed out of the AFCON in January with multiple facial fracture and has since been playing with a mask.
His return to the national team will be a huge relief for head Coach Austine Eguavoen who has only 33 year-old Odion Ighalo and four-time capped Umar Sadiq.
