Victor Osimhen just can’t stop making headlines as everything he touches seems to turn to gold.

Coming off his Ballon d’or nomination, Osimhen went on to score three goals against Sao Tome in the final game of the AFCON qualifiers.

The goals meant that he finished as the Qualifiers highest goal scorer with 10 goals from 6 games.

His goal scoring exploit also saw him overtake Obafemi Martins (18) and Ikechukwu Uche (19) to become the fourth highest goal scorer in the country’s history with 20 goals.

The 24 year-old is now only behind Yakubu Aiyegbeni who amassed 21 goals in 58 appearances, Segun Odegbami with 22 goals in 47 appearances, and the legendary Rashidi Yekini, who scored 37 goals in 62 appearances for the Super Eagles.

Despite Aiyegbeni and Odegbami being within touching distance for Osimhen, he still has his work cut out for him if he is to overtake Rashidi Yekini but will be encouraged with his goal per game ratio of 0.77 compared to Yekini’s ratio of 0.6.

He had earlier revealed his desire to break Yekini’s record and he is now within 17 goals to write his name in the history books.
