Osimhen charges Nigerians to be 12th Man against Ghana in crunch World Cup qualifier

Victor Osimhen believes Nigeria’s world cup chances will depend a lot on massive home support from the fans at the MKO Abiola Stadium on Tuesday when the Super Eagles host Ghana’s Black Stars.

Nigeria will battle Ghana in a make or mar second-leg fixture following a goalless result in the first leg in Kumasi, while the Eagles boasts a talented squad depth, Osimhen emphasized the 12th man will be crucial.
“I think we’ll be playing with the 12th man behind us, that’s our fans, and with the way they’ll support I think we’ll have a chance of getting this World Cup ticket,” said the forward ahead of Tuesday clash.
The first leg performance from the two teams was less impressive than many had hoped for, with very few clear cut chances created between them.
However, it was also expected that the game would be a keenly contested one owing to the rivalry between the two nations.
Victor Osimhen himself was denied any shooting opportunity for 90 minutes, the Black Stars defence line did well to neutralize any threat from the tough playing Forward and ahead of the game in Abuja, he expects a tougher opponent.
“It won’t be easy, we have to give respect to the Ghanaian team also, they have some great quality players.”
