Forward, Victor Osimhen was voted man of the match during Napoli’s 2-1 triumph over Sporting Braga in their opening match of this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen came close to scoring the opener with a header in the opening minutes of the game but Matheus Magalhaes made an outstanding save.
However, just before halftime, the Forward turned provider with a slick pass to Giovanni Di Lorenzo, who converted, to make it 1-0 for Napoli.
Braga threatened a comeback with an equalizer in the 84th minute, and it seemed Napoli might have to settle for a draw, however, the Serie A champions benefited from an own-goal by Braga’s Sikou Niakhate to secure the victory.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen was didn’t play the entire duration of the match as he was replaced by Giovanni Simeone.
