Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala says the team gave everything in their failed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualification bid.
After playing out a goalless draw in the first-leg, the Super Falcons needed a victory in the second-leg on home soil to progress to the fourth qualifying round.
However the Ivorians stunned the African Champions, securing a 1-1 draw in Agege to dump Nigeria out of the race for the Olympic ticket.
Nigeria thus lost on away goals rule, an unfortunate outcome according to Captain Asisat Oshoala.
Oshoala insists the team gave everything on the pitch, “Such things happen in football, we see it everyday.
“Sometimes you have to take responsibility and let whole thing out , we tried our best , we tried to get the goals and they were lucky to get a direct free kick which was an error from us.”
“But I’m proud of the team , everyone gave everything and we’re just unlucky not to win,” She told www.brila.net.
