Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala led the Super Falcons to an 8-1 victory against Australian Queensland NPL side, Lions FC as they continue preparation for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons are considered underdogs heading into the tournament, but recent controversies involving the team and the NFF have also cast doubt on their chances of success.

Rumors circulating that the players had contemplated boycotting their opening World Cup match against Canada were dismissed by captain, Onome Ebi.

In the friendly encounter against Lions FC, the Super Falcons put all controversies behind them and demonstrated their dominance by ripping apart the Aussie team.

Oshoala led the scoring chart with two well taken goal, while Ifeoma Onumonu, Toni Payne, Rasheedat Ajibade, Halimatu Ayinde, Uchenna Kanu and Gift Monday also got on the score sheet.

The team will continue their preparations for the World Cup at their training camp in Australia.

Their first match is scheduled for July 21.
