Opening day blues! FC Midtjylland and Randers settle for a point… Onyedika, Kehinde and Odey all in action

The Opening day of the new season in the Danish Superliga served up an exciting encounter between FC Midtjylland and Randers FC, with three Nigerian Players getting some action.Midtjylland were the host on Friday night, in their first game back to competitive action since the Danish Cup triumph last season.

It was them who also got the first goal of the night, Gustav Isaksen with the ice breaker after 53 minutes.
However it did not take long before the visitors responded, Adam Andersson with the perfect response on the hour mark.
Randers Coach, Thomas Thomasberg oy a minute prior to his team’s leveler had made a double substitution, striker Stephen Odey one of the players coming off the bench.
Thomasberg has also handed Winger Tosin Kehinde minutes, although as a starter and the 24 year-old saw 73 minutes of action before he was replaced by Austria’s Marvin Egho.
Meanwhile, for the hosts the ever present Raphael Onyedika made the line up, getting a now quite usual starter’s berth and he featured for the entire duration of the game.
However, there was to be no victor on the night as the sides settled for a share of the spoils at the MCH Arena.
Next up for FC Midtjylland is the first leg of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round match against AEK Larnaca on Tuesday and will hope for better luck on their home ground.
