Desire Oparanozie has been named the new captain of Super Falcons ahead of the World Cup coming soon. Desire who was handed the captain band in Spain at the expense of the team Captain Onome Ebi and Rita chikwelu who was acting too in that capacity.

It could be recalled that she was part of flamingoes team who got to the final of U 20 World Cup where the team loss to France that is hosting the Senior World Cup in the final of U 20 tournament, from the tournament she rose to prominence with commanding display in the National Team.
