En Avant Guingamp striker Desire Oparanozie has switched her gear to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, reports Footballlive.ng.
The former Wolfsburg Ladies forward suffered from fitness issues in the recently concluded French Feminine Division 1 season and scored only one goal for Guingamp.
She was a second half substitute in her team’s last league match of the campaign against PSG. The game ended 1-1 at the Stade Centre Formation EAG 1 (Pabu) on Saturday.
It was a less productive season for the big striker who has defended the colours of Rossiyanka in the past.
The 25-year-old attacker is expected to be included in the Super Falcons team to the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France.
Oparanozie wrote via Social Media: “2018/2019 season. Done and dusted. Time to focus on the biggest stage.”
Falcons will open their 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign against Norway in Reims on 8th June. Nigeria will also confront Korea Republic in Grenoble on 12th June, before taking on tournament hosts France in Rennes on 17th June.
The 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals hold 7th June – 7th July 2019.
