Onyekuru Receives Positive Signal From Everton’s Coach

Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru has received positive news about his future prospects at his parent club, Everton of England, as The Toffees’ boss, Marco Silva says they still have him in their plans.

Footballive.ng gathered that Everton plan to make another plunge for a work permit that would allow Onyekuru play next season in the English Premier League, and Silva believes they will be successful this time.

Onyekuru has scored 11 goals in 23 league appearances for Galatasaray, but the Super Eagles rookie winger-cum-attacker, who was groomed as a kid at Aspire Football Academy in Qatar, is yet to feature to The Toffees.

The club’s inability to get a work permit after signing Onyekuru from KAS Eupen of Belgium in 2017 necessitated their loaning him first to another Belgian club, RSC Anderlecht, before his ongoing deal with Galatasaray,.

However, feelers now indicate that the Merseyside club hope they can present a stronger case for Onyekuru’s next work permit hearing and the coach adds that they can get an approval for the 21-year-old star.

This comes after Everton’s director of football, Marcel Brands went to watch Onyekuru play in the Europa League against Benfica last week, and Silva admitted that The Toffees’ officials are following his progress.

Silva added: “We are following him like we are all the loan players. We are doing our work and are aware of everything he is doing.

“It is the same with all of our loan players and at the end of the season we will take a decision.”
