Raphael Onyedika started at the based of a midfield three for Club Brugge as they held Royal Antwerp to a nil -nil draw at the Bosuilstadion on Sunday.

Club Brugge were aiming for all three points to close the gap with Antwerp to four points, but failed to do so.

After playing a 2-2 draw in the first encounter the result wasn’t much of a surprise either as both teams headed into the encounter without a great run of result.

Antwerp lost their last encounter in the Belgian Cup, while Club Brugge had only won one of their last four encounters.

In a game that saw defense prevail over attack the hosts were the better team in the encounter, but failed to muster anything meaningful as a failed penalty appeal was the closest they got to grabbing the winner.

However, it was a busy encounter in the middle of the pack for Raphael Onyedika, and the Nigerian even got carded in the 75th minute for stopping a promising Antwerp attack with a professional foul.

Club Brugge will be aiming to cause a major upset this Friday, when they welcome second placed Royale Union SG, to the Jan Breydel Stadium.
