Raphael Onyedika returned to the starting XI for Club Brugge this weekend in the Jupiler League, in spite initial fears that the misfit may have picked up an injury in the side’s UEFA Champions League match against FC Porto.
Onyedika featured for the entire duration of Saturday’s game as Club Brugge also bounced back to winning ways after a winless run in their previous two games.
A share of the spoil in the Jupiler League against Royal Union SG and defeat to FC Porto in the follow up UCL game portrayed an inconsistency uncommon with Club this season.
At the Jan Breydel Stadion on Saturday, Carl Hoefkens men were ruthless, yet not ruthless enough as they let Oostende off the hook with a 4-2 score line.
The hosts missed two spot kicks, both in the second half, but managed to go on and win comfortably.
Goals by Hans Vanaken (34′) and Ferran Jutglà (39′) , Casper Nielsen (73′) and an own goal from Fanos Katelaris guaranteed the win.
Meanwhile, Onyedika also stacked up the record books on the day, with 2 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 shots from 58 touches.
In the meantime, Club Brugge move to third on the standings and are 8 points off the top side KRC Genk.
