Raphael Onyedika was brought in at half-time in Club Brugge’s UEFA Champions League round of 16, second-leg clash against Benfica.

Benfica were already 2-0 up in the first half before the introduction of Onyedika, although it would have been 3-nil but for the disallowed goal of Joao Mario in the second minute of the match for offside.

Rafa Silva opened scoring for the Portuguese side off an assist from Goncalo Ramos in the 38th minute, and then the provider turned the goalscorer himself when he netted in the stoppage time of the first half.

Onyedika replaced Noah Lang at half-time, but it would have no effect as Goncalo Ramos scored again in the 57th minute.

Joao Mario would be compensated for his first-half goal that was ruled out when he netted from the spot in the 71st minute, and David Neres completed the rout in the 77th minute.

Bjorn Meijer pulled one back for Club Brugge in the 87th minute, but it would be okay to console the travelling fans in a match which their side was completely dominated; from start to finish.
