Onuachu yet to get off the mark for Southampton

Paul Onuachu was in action for Southampton as they lost 1-0 to Leeds United at Elland road in the Premier League, on Saturday.

It was a big game for both managers as Javi Garcia was in the dug out for his first game in charge of Leeds United.

Meanwhile, Ruben Selles was in the opposite dugout, debuting in his role as caretaker Boss of the Saints until the end of the season.

However it Gracia who had the last laugh thanks to a cool finish by Junior Firpo in the 77th minute to hand Leeds United all three points and condemn Southampton to the bottom of the standings.

The result was slim but the game produced way more scoring opportunities but the Southampton forward line fluffed chances.

Onuachu was the Saints’ only real threat in attack and had a goal bound effort brilliantly saved by Illan Meslier.

The Big number 9 was substituted in the 63rd minute as Selles tried to find other attacking solutions, but it was Leeds who broke the deadlock.

It’s now four games without a goal for Onuachu, but, the team will now turn their attention to the FA Cup round of 16 match against Grimsby Town.
