Former Super Eagles Midfielder Garba Lawal has charged Southampton’s new signing Paul Onuachu to continue his Genk goal scoring form for Southampton.

Onuachu scored 85 goals in 134 appearances during his time at Genk before completing a deadline line day move to the St. Mary’s.

Speaking with FL, Lawal expressed hope that Onuachu will find his goalscoring boots at Southampton, and will adapt well.

“The most important thing is that he is in the EPL and it’s now a challenge for him, and it’s left for him to show that he can fit into the league,” Garba Lawal who played for Roda JC remarked.

“He has to know it’s a new challenge and it’s good for him to move now and show people he has a lot of ability to score those goals he scored in Belgium.

“If he does well for Southampton he can move to a bigger club, Sadio mane played in Southampton and moved to Liverpool and now Bayern, he doesn’t need to play well he just has to score goals. If he is scoring goals he won’t have a lot of pressure, but if he doesn’t score people will complain. He was signed to score goals and not dribble players.”
