Paul Onuachu was in action for about an hour and did his bit to help Southampton snatch a narrow 1-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea headed into this encounter as overwhelming favourites despite their poor run of form.

In spite of Graham Potter’s technical and expensive lineup, it was a James Ward-Prowse free-kick that provided the moment of Magic to sink hopes of a Chelsea revival yet in the Todd Boehly era.

The game had dragged on in the first half, but Southampton had been the more likely of the two to score and in the dying embers of the half, the visitors won a free kick about 30 yards out.

Ward-Prowse sent a precise curled shot over the wall and it flew past the desperate Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea failed to respond in the second half despite Potter making a total of six substitutions in a bid to turn the game on its head.

Paul Onuachu was in action for 60 minutes and kept the pair of Benoit Badiashile and Kalidou Koulibaly busy for the majority of his time on the pitch.

He should have done better with his header as it was slightly off the top bar but overall he would be satisfied with the shift he put in.
