Super Falcons Chinese based defender Onome Ebi is on the verge of joining the rest of her teammates in camp for the forthcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
The African Champions led by Thomas Dennerby touched down in camp on Monday without influential players like Ebi and Asisat Oshoala who featured for Barcelona Femeni in their UEFA Women’s Champions League final defeat to Lyon on Saturday.
Ebi who captained the team alongside Rita Chikwelu to last African Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana last December has been working with her Club Henan Huishang FC in order to remain fit.
The player however posted on her social media handle on Wednesday that she’s ready to join the team.
” National team duty, time to go represent my country Nigeria 🇳🇬⚽️🙏.”
Ebi will be the first Nigerian and African to play in five FIFA World Cup if she’s selected in the final squad for the tournament proper.
