Onazi Thanks Nigerians For Support During Injury

Date:

Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi has sent out words of gratitude to all Nigerians, who he disclosed have stood solidly by him during his ongoing battle with injury.

While Onazi has been diagnosed that he will be out for between four and six months, after receiving surgery on the Achilles tendon problem in Istanbul, footballlive.ng reports that he was back in Nigeria last week.

Onazi is set to return to Turkey this week, but the former SS Lazio of Italy star is not heading back without giving gratitude and appreciation to those he says are comforting him in his time of need.

He added that top officials of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Super Eagles have also shown him love, which he says has boosted him both emotionally and physically to make a speedy recovery.

Onazi further disclosed that he has even received expert attention from the Eagles’ physiotherapist, which he believes will aid his recovery when he begins proper rehabilitation back in Turkey.

He said: “It was good to see the support from the national team and I want to thank the NFF for the support during this period.

“I hope to get back on my feet as soon as possible. I will be heading back to Turkey and begin the first phase of my rehabilitation for my return.”
