Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo eventually arrived back late at his club’s base, and was subsequently left out of their match day squad for Wednesday’s La Liga fixture against Barcelona.
Omeruo took permission to attend to some personal matters back home in Nigeria, on the understanding that he would be back early Sunday to resume training with the squad, but footballlive.ng learnt he could not keep his promise.
Consequently, the lad on loan from Chelsea of England was axed by the coach, thereby ruling him out of a high-profile debut for him against The Catalans.
Omeruo is yet to play a single competitive match for Leganes, who are bottom of La Liga’s table, after five rounds of games with just one point for their efforts.
Heading into their midweek battle with Barca, Leganes’ coach, Mauricio Pellegrino said Omeruo was jnot in his plans for the game at their home ground, Estadio Municipal de Butarque.
