Nigeria ace Peter Olayinka scored and played the entire duration in Slavia Prague’s 2-1 win over Sigma Olomouc on Saturday to cement their grip on top of the Czech Republic – 1. Liga.
The high-performing attacker struck the equaliser to cancel out Jakub Yunis’ stunner at the Sinobo Stadium.
Yunis put Sigma Olomouc in front after just seven minutes to slot a cool finish past Ondrej Kolar and into the bottom corner.
Mick van Buren completed the turnaround 15 minutes after the interval, slotting home from Alex Kral’s pull-back to finish off a sweeping move from the visitors.
Slavia Prague hung on despite a late onslaught from the visiting team.
Olayinka signed for Slavia from Gent for €3.2 million in a four-year deal last summer.
The attacker joined the Belgian outfit in 2016 after agreeing to a three-year contract but spent most of the time on loan with Slavia and Zulte-Waregem.
The Red and Whites ended last term as runner-up behind league champions Viktoria Plzen and they have recruited the 22-year-old in an effort to reclaim the title they last won in 2017.
Last season, Olayinka scored 11 goals across all competitions for Zulte-Waregem and he has netted six in 11 appearances for Slavia this term.
