KAA Gent of Belgium attacker, Peter Olayinka looks set for a summer move to Slavia Prague of Czech Republic, following his club’s agreement to an offer from the East European club.
Though Gent appeared determined to hold unto Olayinka till next summer, they are said to have bowed under pressure and are now ready to let him join Prague, after initially rejecting a five million Euros bid by the Czech outfit.
Olayinka is set to earn more at Slavia Prague than what he receives at Gent, which surely accounts for the lanky striker’s decision to snub other offers from Germany and France.
The move to Prague will be a boost for Olayinka’s career, as the club finished runners-up in Czech Republic last season, and will feature in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Furthermore, the club is now owned by a wealthy Chinese conglomerate, such that there is bound to be good comfort for Olayinka, who joined Gent in January 2016, but has been previously shipped out on loan to Dukla Prague and another Belgian club, Zulte-Waregem.
He netted 11 goals and provided 15 assists in 40 appearances at Waregem last season, and will be aiming for more at his new base, as his representatives and the Czech club are now due in Belgium to discuss his transfer.
