David Okereke is set to become the second Nigerian player to depart Cremonese during the summer transfer window, following Cyriel Dessers, who recently completed his move to Glasgow Rangers.

Sports Digitale suggests that Turkish giants Beşiktaş are currently engaged in transfer negotiations with David Okereke, just a year after his transfer to Cremonese.

Beşiktaş is keen on acquiring the versatile forward for the Turkish Super Lig to build on last season’s form, as they secured a third-place finish in the Süper Lig, accumulating 78 points.

The club has expressed a strong desire to strengthen their attacking options and views the Nigerian forward as a strong addition to their roster.

Okereke made his move to Cremonese from Club Brugge last summer, signing a three-year contract. Despite his team’s relegation from Serie A, he managed to score seven goals, just one goal shy of the club’s top scorer, Daniel Ciofani, who netted eight goals.

In total, the former Club Brugge forward contributed nine goals and two assists across 38 appearances in all competitions during the previous season.

Considering Cremonese’s financial situation, which has been impacted by their relegation to Serie B and Okereke’s recent arrival at the club, the Grigiorossi might demand a substantial fee for his services.
