Nigeria forward Stephen Odey recorded his 10th goal of the season in the Swiss Super League as FC Zurich won 3-0 against FC Thun at the Letzigrund Stadion on Wednesday.
The win ensured that Zurich are fourth on the log with 43 points from 34 games. If they end the season this way, the club will play in the UEFA Europa League next term.
Thun came into the game strongly and were able to hold fort in a cagey opening half hour.
Benjamin Kololli who was pulling the strings in the midfield of Zurich netted the first goal in the 31st minute.
Former MFM FC striker Odey took just four minutes to increase the tally with a cool finish which unsettled the away side before Assan Ceesay killed the game in the 36th minute.
Odey has hit 14 goals in all competitions for the Stadtclub. He joined Swiss side FC Zurich from NPFL side MFM FC in 2017 and has since carved a niche for himself attracting interests from mainstream Europe.
The sharpshooter is a former MFM FC player who was then the highest goal scorer for his club MFM FC before moving to FC Zurich in Switzerland.
