Odey Relishes ‘Awesome Feeling’ With FC Zurich

Date:

FC Zurich of Switzerland striker, Stephen Odey has described his stunning performance and goal in the Swiss Super League local derby as an ‘awesome feeling’ for him.

The former Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministry (MFM) FC of Lagos attacker, said he was equally excited to score his first goal of the season right in front of his club’s fans, who he tagged amazing supporters of the Zurich-based outfit.

The 20-year-old attacker, who missed his side’s first game of the season, justified his inclusion in the starting line-up with a well-taken second half goal.

With the first half failing to produce any goal, Zurich went ahead two minutes after half time, when Adrian Winter reacted quickest to a Toni Damgjoni pass to put the visitors ahead.

Odey was alert on the hour to double his team’s lead, when he slammed home a rebound from the right post to seal the win and keep Zurich unbeaten after two rounds of games.

The goal will come as a big morale booster for the attacker who was reduced to just three league starts last season, as he hopes to be a regular this season with the club that once paid the wages of former Super Eagles goalkeeper and trainer, Ike Shorunmu.

Odey later took to social media to disclose the depth of his delight, as his goal helped his club hit victory against their eternal rivals, who are internationally regarded as a better and more formidable side.

He wrote: “(It) was really awesome. I made my first appearance of the season in a Derby against Grasshoppers and got my first goal of the season in front these Amazing fans. What a feeling!!!”
