Chairperson of the NWFL Aisha Falode has called for more support for the women football league in Nigeria following the commencement of the new NWPL season which kicked off yesterday across various centers in the federation.
Falode enjoined fans to throng the venues even more than previous seasons and also urged referees to uphold fairness in their officiating in the new women football league season.
The NWFL Boss also called for strategic partnerships with the private sector in different categories to latch on the growing women league brand in Nigeria.
“This is the first week of the season and we are very happy that all our matches are taking place across 8 centers in the nation. We continue to say we want fair officiating from the referees, we continue to say we want more fans at the stadium.
“We cannot develop this game by personal donation. You really need a strategic investment in the women league, we are undervalued and we are under priced for the value that we give and the joy that we give.”
