Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo was on target for his Italian Serie B side Crotone in the 3-0 over Ascoli on Saturday.
The goal is his 14th league goal in Serie B for Crotone who failed to secure immediately promotion back to the top flight division after their relegation a season before.
The 27 year old scored in the 40th minute to put his side in front, before Stefano Pettinari doubled Crotone’s lead three minutes into the second half and Ahmad Benali scored the third goal in the three minute before hour mark.
The win moves Crotone four points clear of the relegation zone, They finished 12th in the Serie B log with 43 points from 36 games.
Nwankwo finished seventh best scorer in in the Italian Serie B and will hoping to a call up in to Nigeria’s squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
