Kelechi Nwakali and Olisah Ndah were the surprise inclusions in Nigeria’s 28-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Nwakali, who has played 968 minutes – in 18 appearances – for Huesca in the Segunda Liga this season, call his debut Super Eagles invite.
On the other hand, Ndah has made 13 league appearances playing 1008 minutes for Orland Pirates in the South African PL.
Meanwhile, should Nwakali make Austine Eguavoen’s final squad for the AFCON, the young midfielder would complete the transition of Nigeria’s valedictorians at the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2015 to the senior national team.
He will join the duo of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.
The 28-man squad was announced on Friday, but, the in form Kevin Akpoguma, Calvin Bassey and Tyronne Ebuehi were all excluded.
Odion Ighalo and Taiwo Awoniyi made the list while the injured Paul Onuachu was also included.
