NPFL: Okagbue pleased with draw in Oriental derby

Date:

FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s head coach Uche Okagbue has attributed Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Heartland in the Oriental derby to determination, dedication and discipline on the part of his players.

The Anambra Warriors maintained their impressive run on the road with a 1-1 draw against Heartland FC at the Okigwe Township Stadium.

Chijioke Alaekwe rose highest to head home a trademark cross from overlapping Chinonso Udeh in the 54th minute to cancel out Joshua Akhabue’s curtain raiser.

The former Remo Stars coach said he was pleased with the manner of his team’s draw.

“Credit goes to the boys for putting up this brilliant show,” he told Footballlive.ng.

“It’s nothing strange, the boys even didn’t play to the level I was expecting but they were determined to win this game and they exhibited it.”

“However, I hope we keep the same momentum because we have shown glimpses of what we can do but we must keep this discipline and stay fresh for the next assignments.”
